How items are shown
- National Weather Service (api.weather.gov): the active alerts for Ohio. Only "Actual" messages are shown (tests and exercises are dropped). Counties come from the alert's own county codes. The full text is the NWS's own words; the official page link opens weather.gov's hazard page for an Ohio zone or county in the alert.
- U.S. Geological Survey (earthquake.usgs.gov): earthquakes whose USGS place name is in Ohio, last 90 days. Severity here is a plain label from magnitude (under 4 Minor, 4 to 4.9 Moderate, 5 and up Severe), not a USGS rating.
- FEMA (OpenFEMA disaster declarations): Ohio declarations from the last 400 days, one item per declaration, with the counties FEMA has designated so far.
US government works are in the public domain. Ohio Breaking News is not affiliated with any of these agencies.
