About Ohio Breaking News
An automated board of official alerts for Ohio: what the National Weather Service, the U.S. Geological Survey and FEMA have issued for Ohio, sorted by county and severity, each linked to the agency.
What it is not
- Not an emergency alert system. It is a web page collected by a program every few minutes. It can be late, and if an agency's service is down it misses alerts. In an emergency call 911. For warnings that reach you, use Wireless Emergency Alerts on your phone, NOAA Weather Radio and your county emergency management agency.
- Not a newsroom. Nobody here writes, edits or reports anything. Every item is an agency's own message, shown with its name.
- Not affiliated with or endorsed by the National Weather Service, NOAA, the USGS, FEMA, the State of Ohio, Ohio EMA, ODOT or any county.
- No AI writes or rewrites anything here. The public pages carry one banner ad from AdEngine, the small ad network run by WeldonPC, placed below the page's content and apart from the alerts; it sets no cookies (see Privacy). My Watchlist pages carry none.
The name
This domain used to show news headlines. Since October 2026 it carries official alerts only: the "breaking" news here is what agencies issue, not what anyone reports.
Who runs it
Ohio Breaking News is made and run by WeldonPC.com, an IT company in Ohio. The data services it reads are listed on Sources.
